Una Montagna d’Arte

‘Una Montagna d’Arte’ (A Mountain of Art) is an initiative of Monte Tamaro SA and the Egidio and Mariangela Cattaneo Foundation that aims to promote art in the natural setting offered by Alpe Foppa. Monte Tamaro is thus transformed into an amphitheatre that brings sculpture and landscape into perfect harmony.

The following biennial exhibitions have been shown in recent years:

Ivo Soldini 2018 / 2019

The exhibition of works by artist Ivo Soldini opens the biennial project ‘Una Montagna d’Arte’ at Monte Tamaro. The exhibition presents a careful selection of 19 monumental sculptures created by Ivo Soldini over the last two decades. It takes the visitor through the sculptor’s career and his favourite subjects related to the human figure. A new way of experiencing art embracing nature and in dialogue with the territory. The visitor confronts himself with the art works in a direct and immediate way, overcoming the difference and the sense of unfamiliarity that often undermine the impact of the contemporary art with the non-specialist public in institutional showrooms.

L’universo di Riccardo Cordero 2021 / 2022

By addressing the Turin artist’s path during the last twenty years, the exhibition “L’universo di Riccardo Cordero” (The universe of Riccardo Cordero) manifests a desire and a commitment to search for originality in sculpture, albeit monumental, as part of the environment. In this originality the space is no longer an external and irrelevant factor, but an active element that transforms the work as much as it is transformed. Cordero’s iron and steel sculptures consist of geometric shapes, the circle and the straight line, which intersect, collide, merge and draw unusual and fascinating paths in which the project and the unexpected, reason and instinct, memory and visionary spirit coexist.
