Cubo sospeso

Unique piece by sculptress Jaya Schürch posed on Alpe Foppa on 15 October 2008. Cubo sospeso means “pending cube”.

“The Cubo Sospeso was made in 2005. It is part of a series of large sculptures I have made that examine the mystery of gravity. Almost three tons of marble suspended seemingly effortlessly by cables make this invisible force visible. Without gravity, there would be no life, no universe, but no one really knows what it is, only what it does.”
