In about 9 hours and 40 minutes of pedalling, this route takes you through the heart of Malcantone. From Alpe Foppa and after Capanna Tamaro, the long descent crosses charming villages like Arosio, Miglieglia, Astano, and Sessa. After reaching the lake at Ponte Tresa and Agno, an easy flat stretch brings you back to Rivera, as you enjoy the landscape of the valley floor.

 Main stops: Alpe Foppa (mountain station of the cable car) –  Capanna Tamaro – Bassa d’ Indemini – Alpe Canigiolo – La Bassa – Alpe di Torricella – Arosio – Breno – Miglieglia – Astano – Sessa – Ponte Tresa – Agno – Taverne – Rivera (valley station of the cable car)
