Castagnata in vetta – Chestnut Festival at Alpe Foppa

New date: due to the bad weather forecast, the Castagnata planned for 18 October has been postponed to Saturday, 31 October. The programme stays the same.

Autumn at Monte Tamaro has an unmistakable scent: chestnuts roasting over the fire. On Saturday, 31 October, join us at Alpe Foppa for the Castagnata, a day of music, seasonal flavours and autumn views at 1530 metres.

Take the cable car up from Rivera and enjoy the meadows, the little lake and the mountains in their autumn colours. From late morning the terrace fills with music. In the afternoon the fire is lit and the most awaited moment arrives: the chestnuts, offered by us. It's our way of celebrating Ticino's best-loved seasonal tradition together with you.

• From 11:00 – Live music with the legendary Ciro
• From 14:00 – Chestnuts offered by Monte Tamaro

For lunch, stop at the Alpe Foppa Restaurant for traditional dishes and views of the Alps before the chestnuts.
